Training Services
Serviam provides a range of QlikView training options for all levels of users. Our instructors have extensive QlikView training experience and bring real world implementation knowledge into each of our QlikView Classes. We provide you with an alternative to other training options that is priced to be competitive and designed to be more flexible to best suit your requirements. If you are new to QlikView, or have some experience, yet need to learn some of the more advanced techniques in data model design or advanced expression building, Serviam is the team to call.
Introduction Course: Three Days
Audience: New QlikView Users, Business Analysts, and Future QlikView Developers
Delivery: On-site, Public training, On-Line
We offer a 3 days starter course that focuses on the basics of ETL and the building of QlikView objects. In three days we help you understand how data models are built and cover scripting techniques to avoid issues associated with data model design. Even if you are not a scripter, this class provides you with the basics that allow for you to have a better understanding of how data is linked and used for doing data discovery.
This 3 day class also teaches you how to build an effective QlikView dashboard.
Other Topics: Follow up Weekly Sessions on specific topics
Audience: New QlikView Users, Business Analysts, and Future QlikView Developers
Delivery: On-Line
Serviam provides students that have taken the Introduction Course an option to do more incremental learning in one to two hour training blocks.
Our follow on topics include:
Advanced Set Analysis:
This session covers more advanced techniques that are used to handle indirect set analysis. We will explain the used of variables and describe techniques doing comparative analysis over time, product or other attributes that are needed.
Data Driven Design Techniques:
This session provides a foundation for building an effective metadata layer that captures the measures, dimensions and documentation for QlikView files. You will learn how to externalize expressions and build objects based off the metadata layer defined. We will show you best practices in expression re-use to support easier maintenance and documentation for your QlikView applications.
Advanced Model Design
This session provides insight into building data models to support multiple fact tables that rely on common dimensions. We will show the alternatives you have from building a link table, concatenated table, and a data island. We will explain how each is created and when and why you would need to use a specific modeling technique.
Customized Training
Serviam is able to come in and review your existing work and then provide training specific to your environment. This is a combination of a “Health Check” that others offer and teaching to explain why something should be changed or improved.
